Description

My 1st try to bake something bread-like:D and it was amazing feeling to eat it knowing i could make the most vital food ever with my own hands:) (recipe from "Light and healthy" recipe book)

For 8 rolls:
250g flour (preferably whole-wheat, but white works too)
+ some for dusting
1 teaspoon of salt
25g margarine
15g fresh yeast or 1 1/2 teaspoons of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of sugar
c. 1,5dl warm milk (not hot!)

Sift the flour and salt into a bowl and let them warm gently, then rub in the margarine.
Prepare the yeast. If using fresh one blend with the warm milk and leave for 10 minutes to rise, if dried, sprinkle the yeast into the milk and leave 15-20 minutes until frothy.
Pour this yeast liquid into the flour and mix adding more milk if neccesary (but for me it was right enough).
Beat until the dough leaves the sides of the bowl. Then on a dusted surface kneed for 10 more minutes. Cover the dough and let it double in size.
Knock back the dough then make a fat sausage shape and cut into 8 equal parts. Shape them into rounds.
Place the rolls on a floured baking sheet, not too close to each other and push back the top of them with the heel of your hand. Cover them again and let them rise more for about 15 minutes.
Dust the rolls with flour and bake them in hot oven (gas mark 8, or 230C) for c. 15-20 minutes.
When ready remove them from pan and cover them with a tea towel.
